SUPERSTITION AND PRIMITIVE TALENT

It exist always empiric remedies of old wives and peasants… about which one speaks much in the popular belief. Very often they cure diseases that science is unable to cure…

These remedies which are empirical and traditional, are the remains and/or the fragments of the secret ancient science, and even, more probably, of this instinct that still again we go on observing in animals..

In animals the instinct still operates. In men, after the development of their faculties has darkened this primitive talent, it remains only the tradition. Women are more savagely attached to this talent than men and they preserved again some of the suggestions of the natural medicine.

These remedies are often linked to local and traditional superstitions which are generally rejected and also denied by scientists.

If superstitions are the fact to attribute negative or positive vertues to things without any rational analysis or explanation, however, they always hide something which is not only some fallacious testimonies of ignorance.

What the scientists and intellectuals describe as superstitions, are actually only the remote survival of the primitive talent of our ancestors… that we lost by excess of civilization. And so, wizards, sorceresses and bonesetters around the world should be simply the guardians of that primitive talent.

With force to intellectualize the world, nowadays, men are living apart from the world.
